United Way Blackhawk Region is always on the frontline of community problems, both everyday problems and crises. The COVID-19 crisis is no exception. Learn more about United Way’s nimble response efforts and how you can join the fight for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in every community. By mobilizing the best resources and inspiring individuals to join the fight against a common foe, each community’s most daunting social crises—United Way Lives United against poverty, hunger and homelessness, family and sexual violence, illiteracy and barriers to self-sufficiency, discrimination and inequity, to name a few.
Mary Fanning-Penny has served as President & CEO of United Way Blackhawk Region since July 2014, and serves on the board of directors for Forward Janesville, Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce and United Way of Wisconsin. Mary’s previous professional experience includes corporate communications for Alliant Energy and GM Janesville Assembly, and serving as the Executive Director for Rotary Botanical Gardens. Recently, Mary received the Influential Women in Business Executive Influencer Award and was named one of YWCA Rock County’s Women of Distinction.
