The American Heart Association works to strengthen the health and well-being of the communities we call home. We partner with local businesses, schools, and civic leaders to expand access to prevention resources, support heart and stroke survivors, and promote healthier living across our neighborhoods. Two cornerstone events reflect our deep connection to the area:
• Bert Blain Memorial Heart Walk
A beloved community tradition, the Bert Blain Memorial Heart Walk brings together families, coworkers, and local organizations to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones, and support heart-healthy lifestyles. A portion of funds raised stay at work in our community—supporting education, CPR training, and community health initiatives.
• Hard Hats with Heart
Focused on the construction industry that helps build our city, Hard Hats with Heart partners with local companies to improve workforce well-being, reduce preventable risks, and ensure every worker goes home healthy and safe.
From empowering residents with lifesaving skills to collaborating with employers on health initiatives, the American Heart Association is committed to helping our community thrive—one healthier life, workplace, and neighborhood at a time.
